-------------------------------------------------------------------------- LIFT Discipleship School Equipping » The school places a high emphasis on practical discipleship, especially in the areas of character building, serving, and evangelism. The lessons provide a fundamental biblical basis while still maintaining a focus on life application. Community life also provides many opportunities for the student to ask questions and exchange ideas on subjects that lay heavily on his or her heart. Additional time is also set aside for Bible study and prayer. Teaching » The morning sessions are designated for studying a biblical theme through group Bible study, interaction, prayer, or group work. Aside from this time there will be one day a week devoted to special topics. In addition to the emphases of faith related questions and biblical teaching, the aspects of personality development, discovering and developing your spiritual gifts, and life principles will also be discussed. In order to achieve these goals there will be thematic in-house and out-of-house seminars and workshops. Learning takes place in small, communicative, and intense groups. Application » The students work during the week on Steiger projects or with fellow churches and organizations. Through this activity they will learn the aforementioned aspect of serving, discover and improve gifts and abilities, become acquainted with various work techniques and areas, as well as developing personally. Working in and on the Steiger House also belongs to this category of work. An important point is also maintenance and growth in one’s own relationship to God. Time is reserved for this activity each day. Lodging » Accommodations are generally supplied in the form of multi-person rooms in the Steiger house or in other apartments in Karlsruhe. Language » The discipleship school is bilingual. All activities will be translated in English and German. This diversity gives the student an opportunity to interact with other cultures. Costs » The cost, which includes tuition and room and board, is 350,- Euros per month. (School materials, such as books, are in addition to this amount). For those who cannot pay this amount, the possibility of receiving a monthly scholarship from Steiger is available. This opportunity is only available, however, upon a review of the student’s financial situation. The application fee is only 15 Euros if it is completed and returned two months before the school begins. If the application is received one month before the start of school, the fee is 50 Euros.
